1. Who is responsible

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Marek Kamm. Contact details are in the legal notice above.

2. In short

This is a static website. It does not set cookies itself, uses no analytics or tracking, embeds no content from other services and loads its fonts from this server. When you visit, your browser only talks to the host of this website.

3. Hosting and server data

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver the pages and to protect them against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical connection data for every request: your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the referring page and information about your browser and operating system. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a secure and reliable website.

Storage period: Cloudflare keeps this data only as long as it is needed to deliver the website, to detect and fend off attacks and to meet legal obligations, and deletes it afterwards. Cloudflare does not publish a fixed period for this. I do not keep access logs of my own, and I do not analyse this data or combine it with other data.

Cloudflare acts as my processor under its Data Processing Addendum, which is part of Cloudflare’s Self-Serve Subscription Agreement. Data may be processed in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

4. Security cookies

If a request looks suspicious, Cloudflare’s protection may run a security check and set a strictly necessary cookie (for example cf_clearance or __cf_bm) to remember the result, typically for 30 minutes. These cookies only serve to protect the website and are not used for tracking (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

5. Contact by email

If you email me, I process your email address and your message in order to reply (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). My emails are hosted by Google (Gmail), which may also process data in the USA; Google is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. I delete emails once the conversation is finished, unless legal retention obligations apply.

6. Links to other websites

This website links to GitHub, LinkedIn and a few other sites. No data is sent to them unless you click a link. After that, their own privacy policies apply.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
